The best photographs of your horse will result from an un-rushed session. It may be possible to produce equine portraits (maybe the horse alone, maybe including the owner or other humans) and other photographs such as schooling/dressage, jumping, hacking etc on the same day. Often it is preferable to have multiple sessions for different types of photographs. I will ask for a single deposit before the photo shoot(s) once I know how many images we are aiming for. Please click the link below for prices and more information. Prints and photo books are popular items. Photographs can also be available on mugs, key ring fobs, mouse mats etc. If you have an idea that I haven't listed then please ask and I will get you a price.
I cannot guarantee to produce particular images as horses, weather and other factors don't always co-operate. But so far I have always produced images that owners are delighted with. If you have any new ideas for a photograph do let me know before or during the session. Posed portraits, action shots and hacking through local scenery are all good starting points.
Samples of available photo books and print types
I have samples of types of photo books and a wide variety of prints which I can bring to show you without any obligation to book a photo shoot. Please use my Contact page on this web site to arrange this.
FAQs
If you have any other questions please ask via my Contact page.
Single prints on fine art quality photographic paper start at £55 for A4 size. These can optionally be mounted and framed. The smallest prints are 6 x 4 inches. These are usually purchased as additional copies of images already ordered as larger prints or within a book and will then be much cheaper than their stand alone listed price.
Photo books start at £115 for an eight inch square book with five double page spreads. Bear in mind that building up a collection of varied images to fill the larger books with more pages may take more than a single photo shoot. There will be no extra charge for additional shoots if these are required to fulfill an order.
At the other end of the scale there's the Grand Gallery Photo Book. It's 20 x 28 inches and my printer supplies this with a minimum of sixty double page spreads. Filling this with images would be a substantial project.
My price list and some more information is in this downloadable document. Click here or use the link further up this page on the left.
I don't charge for a photo shoot, just for the items you order. So the deposit can be considered an agreed minimum spend and hence depends on how many images we are aiming for and their intended use.
I will ask for a deposit once I know your requirements and you are ready to book a photo shoot. This will usually be between £100 if you are wanting a single portrait print and £200 if you are wanting a collection of images in an album.
If you cancel with at least two weeks notice I will refund all of this or we can arrange another date. If there is at least one week to go I will refund half the deposit or we can reschedule. If you cancel with less than one week's notice there will be no refund but the shoot may still be rescheduled at my discretion.
Payment by PayPal or bank transfer is preferred.
If I am obtaining items such as books and some types of prints from my commercial printer I will need part payment before committing myself to this. By this stage you will have seen proof copies of images and approved any book design etc.
Links to my social media accounts are at the top and bottom of all pages on this web site. I will start an email newsletter soon (probably monthly or less, I don't want to bombard you) so let me know through social media or the Contact page on this site if you want to be added to the list to receive that.
If you wish to see my demonstration prints and books just tell me where you are and suggest a possible date. People sometimes like to invite interested friends to make this a sociable occasion. There is no obligation to book a shoot having seen the demo items but if you like the look of them please tell your friends.
Bringing the demo items to your yard or stables while you're dealing with horses is not ideal. Better to make it somewhere clean and dry to keep them in good condition.
I have Public Liability insurance up to one million pounds.
I started learning to ride in the early 1990s. I've been riding Bracken around Birtle (between Bury and Rochdale) and sometimes much further afield since I bought him as a seven year old. He is now thirty one. A little slower and with a few grey hairs but remarkably fit for his age. Some of my demo images are of Bracken.
It still has to be considered unfortunately. I was double vaccinated early in 2021. I'm happy to visit your premises indoors or outdoors. If you want me to wear a mask or take any other precaution just mention it before we meet.
